Are you a good person?

Take 5 minutes and enjoy the gospel in cartoon format, it’s really well done. Wish we had it in Russian or Ukrainian, the most convincing arguments are often the most simple!

Trampoline Setup Time-Lapse

Today we set up the Trampoline. We’ve been hesitating with the weather not quite consistent over here yet, one day it’s sunny, the next it feels like it could snow. Knowing the moment it goes up, the kids from all around will starting coming is also a reason for delay.. we want quiet so baby can sleep!

Abigail – Our Little Gift

We’re enjoying our latest, and final edition to the Crowe family, Abigail.  Several Ukrainians have confirmed that we should stop because 7 is a perfect number.

Deb and baby are doing well.  We also have my parents visiting this week, it’s been great to enjoy the thrill of new life one more time, all the more special with family here.

Please pray with us for our legal documents to continue progressing this month.  We have many document needs, from personal to the Cafe property.  Now with Abigail, we have more documents.  It would make your head spin if you saw the amount of paperwork we have to keep updated regularly to stay here and function with what God has put before us.  It tests my endurance for sure and keeps me on my knees:)

We’ll be meeting this Saturday morning for a men’s breakfast at the Cafe.  We’ve started meeting once per month, everyone brings something, informal, but I believe an essential part of building one another up in our faith.  We’ve had several young men from the colleges come, and I believe these could become something very powerful in their lives as they search for purpose and answers.

This past Saturday evening the ladies hosted an outreach and had over 60 women show up!  I think it’s the most the Gollan’s house has ever hosted, they were seriously crammed in on their 3rd floor.  Olya from Khargalyk shared and there were games and poems.  Our helper Lena (helps Deb cook/clean) came and then also came the following morning to church.  Pray for her with us that God would continue to touch her heart with the love of Christ.

Thanks for checking in, I pray you are encouraged in the Lord, don’t give up, your Father hasn’t given up on us!

And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.  – Gal 6:9

Another Exciting Delivery!

The gigantic industrial dough mixer!

The kitchen equipment has arrived!  What a week, first a new little baby girl, and then the much anticipated materials needed to finish out the kitchen area for the new Light House Cafe.

We received:

– Stainless steel counter tops
– Pizza Oven
– Dough Mixer
– Shelving
– Vent

We’re still waiting on a couple items that were sent back, including the stove top range that they tried to give us in used condition from Turkey:) Thanks to Tom who has been very helpful in communicating with the vendor, and helping us work through a tedious process.

The big question on everyone’s mind is ‘When will it open?!”

The short answer is in the next 2 months, however officially we won’t be able to operate/sell anything to the public for a while longer as property and utility ‘projects’ are processing and out of our hands.

Our next few steps include:

– Tables and Chairs.  We are still looking for affordable solutions.

– Selecting a coffee provider.  Most small cafes in Ukraine are supplied the actual Coffee Machine buy the Coffee provider pending an agreement to use their beans.  We have a few contacts and options we’ll be investigating more in the coming weeks.

– Selecting a supplier for snacks, cold drinks, and potentially ingredients.

– Signage inside, menu options, pricing, and a series of taste tests!  Shane is going to be our initial cook and help us establish our base offering of pizza and coffee.  Pray for him, there will be a lot of opinions between all the foreigners represented here.. we all have our own ideas of what good pizza tastes like!

Alyosha and Tom helping unload the good!

Financially we are once again spent, but we are so close!  Thanks to all that are following and have already given, it’s really cool to see things come together. I believe in this effort, God is with us and we will together become a stronger light in this community, not just via the main business on the first floor, but what we will be able to do on the 2nd floor as well moving forward.
